The Death of Harry Potter?

I’m going to put it out there.

I’m a fan of the Harry Potter books.

A fan as in, I read the books, and thought they were good. Rowling’s a master of imagery and I wouldn’t mind reading the next one when it comes out.

I do have to say, though, I feel badly for poor J.K.Rowling and the hard time she gets from people who are apparently fans of her work.

A large portion of the controversy stem from the statements Rowling has made about the impending death of a major character. Rowling is retaining her silence on exactly who the victim will be, but some fans have been nervous with the possibility that it may be Harry himself.

Rowling has been accused of being sadistic, according to http://www.writerswrite.com/childrens/ and she has had to defend her decision to include the death of some favourite characters in her writing.

Personally, I say let the woman write in peace.

She’s a talented author, whose creativity has captured a far-spread audience, in terms of demographics and distance, the world over. Surely she is capable of continuing her work, which so far has been so popular, without help as to what the plot should and should not contain?
